What could a primitive all digital rompler from the early 90's have to offer compared to the multi-Gigabyte sample libraries of today? Surprisingly, the keyboard version of the XS-1, the KC10 Spectra, is said to have been used by many great Detroit Techno, Acid House, and Warp Records artists, and that primitive rompler sound does make it stand apart from more realistic samples, much the way it does with the ubiquitous Korg M1. The pianos and keys are particularly compressed and punchy sounding in a way that a real piano is not.

XS-1 Sample Set consists of 96 patches and 2.3GB of audio painstakingly sampled through vintage UTC isolation transformers and state-of-the-art Lynx conversion.
