This collection of MIDI drum grooves and fills comes from the Superior Drummer sound library expansion The Metal Foundry SDX. It includes performances from three drummers: Gene Hoglan, Dirk Verbeuren and Peter Tisell (formerly Fredander). Combined, the performances in this package paint a comprehensive picture of drums covering anything from traditional, basic hard rock to extreme metal.

Gene Hoglan, known from Strapping Young Lad, Testament and many others, presents a full-on metal assault: frenetic double-bass drum work, intense skank beats and over-the-top fills – perfect for death and thrash metal.

Dirk Verbeuren (Soilwork, Scarve) lays down some of his patented blast beats,  carpet rolls and skank beats but also delivers some classy tom grooves and crushing mid tempo. A solid, versatile performance, ideal for modern metal in any shape or form.

Peter Tisell's part covers the more traditional side of the hard rock spectrum – basic grooves and fills, leaving out much of the double-bass frenzy. A collection of solid, in-the-pocket grooves for any basic rock or metal song.

Combined, the three drummers in this MIDI collection showcase a cross section of modern rock and metal drumming at its very best.
