Well, the truth is that there is much less people who will pay 500 USD per effect when compared to the ones who can pay 50 USD. So, they introduced PCB-mounted versions of their effects that are ca. 20-30% cheaper than hand-wired version (which are horribly expensive). In my opinion, the tone should be unaffected, so this should be a good move. For us, who loooove Mad Professor's pedals...
